What you will do:

The Strategy Manager is a key role on the Digitalization & Service Enablement team within the Applied Equipment Product Business. Service Growth is a strategic focus area of the of enterprise, and the Strategy Manager will support this focus area by leading strategic planning and management of initiatives with the goal of enhancing digital offerings for chillers and increasing the overall aftermarket revenue stream. These initiatives could range from short term projects to significant mid- and long-term tools, products, product enhancements, or software developments that lead to chiller retrofit offerings, the improvement of remote fault detection diagnostics, building digital threads, the implementation of digital twin technologies, and finding use cases for artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, to name a few.

We would like you to act as business “owner” for service initiatives and is accountable for the successful execution of initiatives without having direct authority over the cross-enterprise resources required to deliver the results. The Chiller Service Business is global, and as such, this position should be well versed in global markets and requirements. This calls for continuous liaising with the regional Service teams to ensure initiatives meet global and regional requirements.

This role requires strategic problem-solving, critical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to deliver results through coordination of global cross-functional teams.

How you will do it:

  • Scopes initiatives, defines requirements, sets timing, drafts business cases, and provides oversight to execute initiatives related to Digitalization & Service Enablement
  • Setting strategy and roadmaps for these initiatives includes, technology feasibility and competitive intelligence assessments, collecting and analyzing market information, as well as industry trends, incorporating regional service lead and customer feedback, and prioritizing competing requests.
  • Utilize product and strategy management skills to: act as the champion for these various initiatives, lead cross-functional teams (engineering, software, marketing, sales, service, etc.) without direct supervision. Identify what needs to be done to satisfy, often vague, problem statements with little guidance by gathering input and socializing the various ways forward. Use data analysis and visualization to explore possibilities, make informed decisions, and gain alignment. Prioritize activities based on stakeholder input. Set direction and roadmap(s) for multiple initiatives. remove organizational barriers when needed and adapt communication styles based on audience.
  • Employ a program management mindset to achieve results by tracking progress, managing interdependencies, and communicating to stakeholders.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, engineering degree is preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years of HVAC related experience in product management, program management, or engineering
  • Familiarity with digital technologies such as Connected Chillers, digital twins, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
  • Understanding of technical concepts related to the large global air- and water-cooled chiller portfolio.
  • Comfortable in environment where problem statements are vague, direction is subject to change, and sees this as an opportunity to help set direction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI or similar data analytic tools.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently and possesses a high drive for success.
  • Go-getter attitude with a willingness to figure out and do what needs to be done, and doesn’t expect it to be easy.
  • Ability to mentor and train other teammates is a plus.
