Summary

As senior data scientist for Johnson Control’s, the successful candidate will join a team that develops and brings to production contemporary analytics at the heart of our solutions.

You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for new growth and efficiency based on data analysis. The data scientist role will work closely with solutions engineering teams and product management to integrate results into operational platforms, including modern data processing ecosystems including Hadoop and NoSQL architectures.

You will be results driven, ensuring solutions are delivered on-time, within budget and in accordance with the architectural vision and performance expectations.

The candidate must be proficient in working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment requiring strong communication and teamwork skills as well as the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and bring to production contemporary analytics for converged security solutions, smarter buildings and connected IOT.
• Work on all stages of data science projects from understanding data to implementing the solutions into products and service offerings
• Develop strong relationships with business and solution development team members by being proactive, displaying a thorough understanding of the business/product development processes and by recommending innovative solutions
• Provide data modeling, mining, pattern analysis, data visualization and machine learning solutions to address manufacturing and integrated supply chain needs
• Communicate project output in terms of customer value, business objectives, and product opportunity
• Promote data science methods and processes across functions
• Attend industry conferences to stay current on industry trends, challenges, and potential market opportunities

Required Job Skills

• At least 12-15 + years of experience in software development. 1 years of hands on experience developing and productizing data analytics based solutions.
• Hand-on experience with modeling/development software (R, Python, SPSS)
• Must be proficient in programming and data structure modeling
• Must have hand-on experience in AI and Machine Learning including statistical learning, reinforcement learning, and Deep Learning (RNN, LSTM, AutoEnoder and CNN).
• Signal processing background is a plus
• Experience bringing prototypes to production on Hadoop and/or NoSQL platforms
• Experience with text analytics
• Experience working with remote and global teams a plus
• Results driven with a positive can do attitude
• Must have excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Masters or Ph.D. degree in Predictive Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Economics, Marketing Analytics, Mathematics
