Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. What we do:

Data Analysts are responsible for improving our business at large through data and analytics – and contributing back to the central platform and capability. Data Analysts are partners on key areas of strategic focus for our business with internal customers spanning every team, including engineering, R&D, Strategy, People Operations, and senior leaders. The role works closely with leadership and will assist in the creation of core systems of records and analytic capabilities.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What you can do:

  • Transform noisy, real-world data into valuable information that enables the business to quickly and effectively make data driven decisions
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to gather requirements and scope analytics solutions (e.g., dashboards) including whiteboarding, wireframing, rapid prototyping, and developing dashboards (e.g., PowerBI)
  • Develop and deliver data / analytics support on critical use cases where data can be used to excavate hidden insights (e.g., battery testing, testing and certification, AI, demand forecasting, people analytics, cybersecurity, systems of record)
  • Develop, maintain, and improve ontologies, visualizations, interactive tools, and dashboards to enable technical and non-technical users to leverage data (bonus for ability to lead pipelines)
  • Identify key data sets through deep engagement with use cases and workflows
  • Integrate analytics and underlying work (e.g., data transformations) back into the data platform for usage beyond the single use case
  • Help develop, lead, and improve data pipelines and ontologies based on use case needs
  • Consistently clean and transform disparate data sets for use cases and populate back into the data lake
  • Triage and address support requests (e.g., workflow and product issues)
  • Actively enable a data driven and innovative culture across the organization
  • Communicate insights in a way that resonates with internal and external partners
  • Drive analytics and data strategy across the organization including leading training sessions and standard methodologies in our data systems
  • Stay up to date on new industry innovations and standards
  • Work closely with colleagues in Analytics and across the organization, interacting with multiple groups daily
  • May require up to 25% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you can contribute:

  • S. in relevant field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, Data Science, or Information Sciences preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience in working with data tools across diverse use cases
  • Authority with data dashboarding and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Ability to develop simple and complex ontologies
  • Ability to write complex analytical SQL queries
  • Creative and curious problem solver, able to take an ambiguous and complex need and develop data / analytics solutions
  • Familiarity with large data platforms and/or their components (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure/GCP, Palantir Foundry) preferred

  • Able to work in a rapidly changing and ambiguous environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work across the business with diverse, technical and non-technical colleagues from entry level to executive
  • Continuous learner, independent worker, and strong decision maker (with minimal supervision)
  • Ability to apply data and analytics to a variety of use cases from business development to aerospace engineering to manufacturing / production and more preferred
  • Experience in industry working with highly regulated data and export control, i.e., aerospace, automotive, healthcare, finance preferred
  • Professional experience with Python/R/Matlab preferred
  • Proficiency with data ingestion and processing frameworks, including Kafka and Spark preferred
  • Experience in a newer business and identifying / delivering analytic solutions to use cases from zero to 1 preferred
  • Experience with aerospace and/or autonomous vehicle use cases preferred
  • Experience with JIRA and Atlassian tools preferred
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality
  • Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:

$143,520—$223,602 USD
