Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining robust, secure web services and data systems. We aim to run a monolith until it breaks so we can focus our brain power on customer value and discovery. We have a duty to protect customer data which means keeping things simple and secure.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain simple backend systems for our web application

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define domain models and architecture

• Optimize performance and stability of backend services

• Ensure the security and reliability of our systems and data

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in backend development

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in building and maintaining web services and data systems

• Strong proficiency in Python and a Python web framework (e.g. Django, FastAPI)

• Solid understanding of databases, data modeling, and pipelines.

• Familiarity with modern web frameworks and libraries

• Experience with continuous integration and deployment workflows

• Passion for delivering high-quality solutions and excellent user experiences

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• We are open to candidates in +-3 hours of EDT.
