What this position is all about: Cellarity is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist, Machine Learning with deep expertise in next-generation-sequencing (NGS), single-cell genomics, and development of Computational Biology (CB) and Deep Learning (DL) approaches. You will be responsible for developing pipelines to accurately analyze drug perturbational datasets, supporting drug prediction and scientific publication activities, and developing analytical tools that prioritize compounds that revert disease cellular state. You will work closely with the Machine Learning, Computational Biology, and Scientific Projects teams and collaborate cross-functionally within Cellarity to advance drug discovery programs. The ideal candidate must be results oriented and have excellent communication skills and be willing to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

What you would be responsible for:

  • Support scientific publications to further advance Cellarity’s reputation.
  • Develop best data practices to enable robust model development from omics datasets.
  • Leverage single-cell and computational biology techniques to support the expansion of drug perturbational datasets and identification of drug candidates.
  • Develop and maintain DL and ML predictive models that are core to identification of compounds modulating disease states.
  • Collaborate with scientists from Biology, Technology, and Chemistry teams as part of the wider drug discovery project team.

What experiences will you need:

  • Doctoral Degree in Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, and related disciplines, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing best data practices for bulk and single-cell NGS data.
  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining DL and ML models for biological applications.
  • Extensive experience in Python, sklearn, pandas, numpy, and pytorch/TF.
  • Knowledge of pathway enrichment, differential expression analysis, and cell type annotation.
  • Ability to successfully work in cross-functional teams with an emphasis on collaboration and communication across the department.
