Job Description

The Sr. Manager - AI will lead a team focused on the research, development and deployment of AI/ML technologies in computer vision and apply them to several applications. The selected candidate will lead a range of projects including short-term sprints (rapid prototyping) and long-term engagements (integration, maturation of prototypes) and will be responsible for the technical execution of AI system development and integration activities for several programs simultaneously.

The chosen candidate will be engaged in system development activities throughout the entire project life cycle, including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration and flight test while ensuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied on assigned programs. This candidate will apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques in the software field to develop tangible, differentiated and meaningful solutions aimed at significantly enhancing the sustainment of complex systems and enabling future hyper-battlespace capabilities.

From a functional perspective, the candidate will provide career development & guidance, perform merit and salary actions, develop training plans, and support recruiting, hiring and staffing activities.

In addition, the selected candidate will support the development of product line road maps, pursue new business opportunities, and assist in new business captures.

The candidate must exhibit self-motivation, a strong work ethic, time management and interpersonal skills.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Support to reviews at all levels of the design, development and testing of the function.
  • Propose and develop architectural options and conduct system / subsystem trade-offs.
  • Agree Interface Exchange Requirements and acceptance criteria with the customer.
  • Liaise with customers and subcontractors on technical issues.
  • Deliver technical proposals and generate cost estimates for future activities.
  • Produce system test and flight-check definitions and procedures.
  • Lead system design, test and flight trial activities.
  • Capture of customer requirements and the flow down into compliant subsystem specifications.
  • Critically review inputs from the different teams (Solution, Software, Hardware).
  • Develop, support and certify simulation of Navaid RF signal transmission and request responses.
  • Ensure the necessary clearances are in place (e.g. security, safety, export control and spectrum).
  • Provides regular status reports to the project manager and/or project leader.
  • Manage the progressive sign off of Requirements through the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal means along with experience in making presentations in front of others;
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (or in process to become licensed).
  • Ability to manage work independently.
  • Can develop and maintain good relationships with key clients and partners.
