Job Description Team ServiceNow Research does both fundamental and applied research to futureproof AI-powered experiences. We are a group of researchers, applied scientists, and developers who lay the foundations, research, experiment, and de-risk AI technologies that unlock new work experiences in the future . In this role, you will be part of the very dynamic AI Trust & Governance Lab whose objective is to promote the research breakthroughs in trustworthy AI by equipping developers and scientists across the organization with new capabilities. Our team validates that those state-of-the-art technologies are relevant and scalable to meet the most challenging needs of ServiceNow’s customers. Role Applied research is the process through which we apply fundamental concepts to the real world in all its imperfect and unpredictable glory. In this role, you will be an AI applied research expert who will work mainly in the field of trustworthiness in natural language processing (e.g., hallucinations detection, bias detection, and remediation). This includes working with very large models built on terabytes of proprietary data and spanning all the way to models trained in a low-data regime. You will thrive in this role by being able to quickly understand the problem at hand, consider potential solutions, and validate your ideas. As part of the Trust and Governance Lab, good communication skills are a must to bridge the gap from fundamental research to early production work. Qualifications To be successful in this role you have: A MSc with 4 years of experience (preferably in industry) or a PhD in a relevant field with 2 years of appropriate experience. Passion for and past work in trustworthiness-related topics. Experience working with state-of-the-art NLP models and techniques is an important asset. Experience in the development of AI prototypes and the ability to quickly validate whether a certain avenue is worth pursuing. Experience in training or fine-tuning large models is an asset. Familiarity with doing a literature review, evaluating, and implementing (sometimes from scratch) the best solution found. Familiarity with PyTorch, Tensorflow or equivalent tools used for running computations on GPUs. Ability to work on large projects with self-directed initiatives. Capacity to deal well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment. Ability to communicate research findings to a non-research audience. A “getting things done” mindset.
