Job Description

As a Principal Data Scientist, you will be responsible for the design and product-ionizing of AI/ML-driven solutions to business problems. You will work closely with business collaborators to understand their needs and difficulties, and then translate those into practical data science projects. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products.

The ideal candidate is an experienced data wrangler with a deep understanding of data science principles and a proven track record of delivering AI/ML-driven solutions to business. They may lead and mentor a team of data scientists and be able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

The job responsibilities include:

  • Working on complex, cross-functional research or analytical projects demonstrating advanced computational algorithms
  • Developing custom algorithms for solving complex real estate business problems across a wealth of structured and unstructured data across multiple data sources
  • Driving quick and thoughtful business insights using standard tools and frameworks
  • Leading and mentoring a team of data scientists that derives practical business insights from data and designs, plans, prototypes, productionizes, maintains and documents reliable and scalable data science solutions
  • Serving as the technical expert on data science projects, providing thought leadership and direction to data scientists
  • Understanding the business problem(s) from business collaborators and converting it to data science/analytical problem(s)
  • Being at par with latest advancements in the data science world and applying those new findings (techniques /algorithms/models) to solve the problems at hand in a more effective and efficient way for better results
  • Ability to articulate insights from the data, ML model explainability to business teams in a clear and concise manner and help them make decisions

The required skills and qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science or Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
  • 8 years of relevant experience in data science
  • Strong ability to assess the business problem and judge the suitability of data science for solutioning
  • Strong communication skills for presenting results to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Recent experience in working on Natural Language Processing solutions that include Transformer models – BERT or GPT is a plus
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, statistical modeling, optimization. Should be able to customize any algorithm(s) wherever needed
