About this Position: 

American Honda Motor is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to develop and manage advanced analytics models to drive personalized customer relationship communications and the sales of all Honda products and services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop end-to-end ML systems including data analysis, data preparation, model development, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Build ML pipeline with continuous training, validation, and automatically runs models as a service.
  • Work with large, complex datasets from various data platforms to support digital product development and solve complex business problems. Build advanced models and analytics that continuously improve the efficiency of customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty marketing programs.
  • Build measurement, analytics, and machine learning modeling initiatives supporting customer-facing marketing programs.
  • Design and analyze controlled experiments to examine the incremental impact of each initiative.
  • Conduct analysis that includes problem formulation, data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, and presentations. Build analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale.
  • Apply advanced analytical methods (e.g., statistical and machine learning models) to provide insights on customer behavior and value. Support marketing team in creating highly effective customer engagement programs.

Who we are seeking: 

As a Data Scientist on the Customer Experience Analytics team, you will build measurement, analytics, and machine learning modeling initiatives supporting customer-facing marketing programs. You’ll work across Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams to embed advanced models and measurement into production systems, and support marketers in creating highly effective customer engagement programs.

Required Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of industry experience working as a Data Scientist. Experience in quantitative marketing data science, product data science, risk modeling, or similar fields
  • 5+ years of experience in Python or R, and statistical programming language for implementing statistical analysis and machine learning models
  • 5+ years of experience developing machine learning system, including data preparation, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring. Experience with automating continuous training and delivery strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cloud environment (S3, EC2, Redshift, SageMaker) and data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, HDFS)

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, etc.). Master’s degree preferred.

Desired skills:

  • Experience leveraging data insights to influence business stakeholders and communicate complicated analysis insights to non-technical audiences
  • Be able to frame your own hypothesis, create meaningful metrics, and select the modeling approach
  • Demonstrates clear communication and presentation skills (oral and written)

Total Rewards:

  • Competitive Base Salary – This is an exempt position with a salary range of $97,000 - $145,600. Pay will be based on several variables that include, but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, etc.
