Data Scientist - NLP

At CalypsoAI we are building tools to enable the safe adoption of state-of-the-art machine learning technologies across all industries. 

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with a deep understanding of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python programming, and modern deep learning technologies. As a Data Scientist at CalypsoAI, you will get the opportunity to work on unique and challenging Machine Learning projects that directly impact our customers. You will work alongside fellow data scientists, software engineers, and product owners to research, design, and develop new features. 

Location (hybrid): The Lennox Building, 50 Richmond St S, Saint Kevin's, Dublin 2 

This is a hybrid role, the successful candidate will be required to work from our Dublin office for a minimum of 2 days per week. 

Responsibilities

• Actively extend and improve our core software libraries by writing and reviewing code
• Work closely with the engineering team to integrate new features into existing products
• Contribute to the research, development, and technical design of new product features
• Stay current with new developments in Machine Learning and NLP and apply them to solve business problems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, economics, computer science, etc.)
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Data Science, or a Ph.D. and 3 years of experience
• Experience in Python programming and strong knowledge of relevant NLP and deep learning libraries such as PyTorch, NLTK, spaCy, transformers, LangChain etc. 
• Practical experience with multiple supervised and un-supervised NLP tasks such as sentence classification, NER, and topic modeling. 
• Familiarity with recent developments in the LLM space and a keen interest in keeping on top of this rapidly changing landscape. 
• Familiarity with software development practices and tools (code review, Git, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Hybrid role - Tuesday and Wednesday in our Richmond Street office in Dublin.
