Join our SRE team!

Our team uses internal and 3rd party data to analyze and measure the performance of our products. We are networking data scientists: we combine our knowledge of data analysis and networking to identify opportunities for improvements. These areas involve the performance and reliability of our product lines.

Partner with the best

You'll apply statistical data analysis and an understanding of networking protocols to diagnose and solve some of the Internet's most difficult content delivery challenges. You will work with cross-functional teams to understand and benchmark the performance of our key products and services, and influence their evolution. Note: this is not a QA or Operations role

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Applying analytical skills and statistical insights to identify performance bottlenecks, and propose solutions
• Defining, implementing, and mining data feeds drawn from both Akamai and 3rd party sources that influence company decision-making at the highest levels
• Building software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reliability
• Partnering with Engineering and Operations teams to help guide adoption of new features and processes
• Helping to identify areas for new technology investments

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of academic or industrial experience and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Have an analytical background with experience in statistical data analysis
• Possess experience with Internet protocols (DNS/HTTP/TLS/TCP)
• Demonstrate experience with coding in one or more of the following languages (python, perl, R, Java, SQL)
• Have some familiarity with web applications and browser behavior
• Have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to articulate technical information in an easy-to-understand manner
