Join our Threat Research team!

Our Threat Research team uses Data Science and massive amounts of Akamai network traffic data to enhance the threat intelligence that is used in Akamai products. Our customers include network operators and large enterprises. The team is spread across multiple countries and collaborates closely with many other teams across the Akamai.

Help us make the Internet a safer place

You'll help us mitigate some of the most sophisticated security threats on the Internet. You'll help us identify network and application layer attacks and mitigate these threats for our customers around the world. You will help us provide better security for millions of subscribers.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:

• Proposeing, research and build models to detect new threats
• Optimizeing our existing network and application layer threat intelligence
• Working in the cloud using scalable big data and machine learning technologies
• Deploying your work to production using our ML Ops platform
• Monitoring and understand the impact of our work

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be curious and constantly learning
• Able to train and optimize impactful machine learning models
• Be focused on measuring and improving outcomes using dashboards and ad hoc analysis
• Be experienced with SQL, Python/R and Spark
• Able to identify the best tool for the task. We use multiple tools in the cloud such as Azure Synapse, DataBricks, Kafka and Power BI
• Be familiar with network protocols such as DNS and HTTP is a bonus
