Job Description

What we’re looking for:

We are expanding our Data Science team and looking for a Clinical Data Scientist that can bring real-world clinical experience to the team and build models that make various predictions about hospital patients. Our team has currently developed hundreds of models to address various aspects of patient health and has scaled to the point that we need our own clinical expert to advise on and build even more advanced models.

What you’ll do:

As a Clinical Data Scientist, you will:

Collaborate with the rest of the Data Science team to ensure clinical appropriateness and usefulness of machine learning models

Harness a rich dataset of EMR data to build predictive and descriptive machine learning models

Analyze, interpret, and report on data from user interaction with models

Assist in determining the usefulness of proposed features

Partner with our existing team of clinical experts to coordinate large audits of our models

What we’d love to see:

• Minimum Requirements (Education, certifications, and experience):
• Clinical Degree with 5-7+ years’ experience of working as a clinician in a hospital setting (MD, BSN, RN or Physician Assistant preferred)
• Experience with modern machine learning frameworks (i.e., PyTorch, TensorFlow, H2O)
• Solid understanding of statistics
• Experience working effectively within a team
• Preferred Requirements:
• Time-series processing
• NLP tools/understanding
• HIM analysis & reporting experience
• Experience with the analysis of clinical data
• Experience with Linux and remote computing
• Experience with Java

Location:

You will join a team based in Austin, TX

Hybrid preferred (1 day a week in office in Austin, TX if local) but remote candidates will be considered as well (Central and Eastern Time Zones preferred)
