As a Responsible AI Associate, you will have a key role to play in building out and delivering PwC’s expertise on cutting-edge topics around how to interpret and implement in practice new legislative, regulatory and ethical frameworks and requirements covering data and AI, e.g. the EU AI Act. This is a full-time role for a person with a demonstrable interest and knowledge in areas surrounding digital technology, governance, compliance and strategy. About Data Strategy, Management & Ethics team

The team is based in Prague and Brno and focuses on strategic consulting services in the topic of data and data-driven insights. We design data strategies for global clients, build data implementation roadmaps, set overall data visions, help manage data (e.g. data governance, quality, MDM etc.), advise on the use of advanced analytics (e.g. ML, NLP etc.) and drive regulatory and ethical compliance (e.g. EU’s AI Act etc.). This role will be focused on delivering services around responsible and legally compliant digital innovation to our clients. Being part of a wider ‘Digital Enablement’ area, we work closely with other teams focused on Big Data & Data Science, Business Intelligence & Reporting, as well as Digital Transformation and Software Development.

About the manager

Patrik is the team manager leading consulting services and being responsible for the Data Strategy, Management & Ethics team. Patrik studied at University of Kent and dedicated his early career to development of analytics and business intelligence before transitioning to advisory roles. In recent years, Patrik worked with some of Europe's largest organisations: supported an Energy client in the Netherlands; advised a major Retailer in Sweden; and built a strategy for a smart city in Saudi Arabia. Patrik enjoys free time with his family and stays active trail running, and walking his dog Molly.

Job description & summary

As a Responsible AI Associate in PwC’s Broader Assurance Services, your everyday tasks will focus on supporting our clients to understand and use digital technologies and data in line with ethical and legal requirements. Your tasks may include:

  • Track and understand key technological developments, their capabilities and limitations, and how they affect PwC and our clients
  • Monitor legal, policy and regulatory developments that will affect data and digital technologies and identify relevant requirements and good practices for their implementation
  • Translate legal, policy and standard requirements into concrete actions, guidelines, and processes and knowhow that you can use to implement these requirements to concrete technical solutions or organizational contexts
  • Carry out legal and policy analysis to inform or assess ICT-related policy questions, as the opportunity may arise
  • Develop and deliver information materials and presentations on the landscape of law and technology
  • Collaborate and interact with experts across technical and non-technical disciplines
  • Engage with stakeholders internally and externally to build lasting relationships, share best practices and knowledge internationally
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude and initiative to capture new opportunities you see and gain ownership and recognition for your work

Requirements of the role

  • Education in the fields of law, public policy, sociology, social sciences, or a degree in business and IT, data science, information management or adjacent subjects
  • Demonstrable interest and preferably experience in the fields of data governance, AI and related policy, laws, regulations or ethical questions
  • Ability to understand and analyze laws, regulations, standards or frameworks and deliver concrete requirements, explanations and insights in a focused and clear manner to a broad range of stakeholders
  • Interest in applying legal and ethical requirements to technology or organizational contexts in the real world
  • Ability to manage your own time and priorities, as well as foresight to identify potential opportunities and work with your team members on the best ways to approach them
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and build relationships across cultures and hierarchies
  • Curiosity about new technologies and their governance in theory and practice
  • Professionally fluent English. Knowledge of Czech or Slovak is an advantage.
