We are looking for a passionate Data Science Technical Writer Manager to lead the development of Dataiku’s product learning resources.

As the lead of the product learning team, you’ll work towards providing an exceptional learning experience to Dataiku users, customers, and partners. As such, your primary goal will be to empower Dataiku users with the knowledge needed to successfully achieve their business and careers goals using our platform, leading anyone into becoming autonomous, confident & proficient with Dataiku.

You will lead a team of Data Science Technical Writers and drive the strategy to craft online documentation, learning content, and in-product learning resources, in a highly collaborative context, working with many teams from Research & Development to Customer departments.

You are passionate about data science and AI technologies, have excellent written skills, and a proven track record of experience developing user-focused documentation and training content.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead an international team of Data Science Technical Writers spread across different time zones, mainly US and Europe.
  • Implement and contribute to the team’s vision and its roadmap
  • Lead and help the team carry out its main tasks, including but not limited to:
    • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to decide on how to enable end users, improve their learning experience and design new learning content.
    • Write user-focused documentation, including but not limited to: how-to guides, concepts, troubleshooting, project wikis, embedded help in the Dataiku UI and sample code.
    • Develop Academy technical curriculum, including but not limited to: courses, lessons, quick starts, tutorials, storyboards for video production, quiz and certificate examinations.
    • Design and develop projects that show how to use Dataiku.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (data scientists, engineers…) and customer-facing teams to understand requirements, scope work and develop documentation content.
    • Translate complex technical concepts and components into accurate and impactful visual aids in collaboration with the e-learning graphic designer
    • Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and mentor non-writers on how to contribute to content creation and improve their writing skills.
  • Learn and constantly refresh on e-learning techniques for providing clear, understandable, and engaging content.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in data science, engineering, statistics, computer science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in technical writing, product documentation, or curriculum development
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing technical writers, teams, and/or projects.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Technical knowledge and strong interest in data analysis, data science, and data engineering
  • Demonstrated project management skills to collaborate effectively with different stakeholders to identify learning needs, research technical topics, and produce learning content
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies

Additional Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in an analytics company
  • A Master's degree or Ph.D. in data science, engineering, statistics, computer science, or a related field
  • Experience with content production tools such as Learning Management Systems (Skilljar), version control (Git), markup language (reStructuredText) and documentation generator (Sphinx)
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
