Job Description
The Member Product Data Science and Engineering team is chartered to relentlessly improve all Netflix member interaction interfaces by surfacing insights, and identifying, incubating & enabling product innovations leveraging data engineering, analytics, experimentation & modeling.
We are looking for a talented and passionate data scientist to support Identity, to empower consumers to enjoy our product with ease while making it difficult for unauthorized users to gain access. As part of the team, you will play a key role in directly influencing product roadmaps. Through effective identification and application of analytics, experimentation, causal inference, and machine learning techniques, you will uncover opportunities, influence product decisions, and inform future directions. This is a high-impact role in which you will partner with a wide range of cross-functional partners to build out a strong consumer identity strategy.
In this role, you will:
- Proactively identify and perform data exploration to inform future product directions
- Make data-driven recommendations for opportunities, prioritization, and resource allocation
- Effectively identify and apply analytics, causal inference, experimentation, and machine learning techniques for given business problems
- Develop and validate the appropriate metrics to measure success in a given product area
- Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional partners from product, engineering, operations, design, consumer research, etc.
- Present your research and insights to all levels of the company
We are looking for:
- Is excited about driving and influencing product strategies in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Is comfortable navigating ambiguous problems and break them down in a structured, hypothesis-driven way
- Is able to communicate technical and statistical concepts clearly and concisely with different audiences
- Has strong statistical knowledge and intuition
- Has strong product knowledge and intuition
- Has strong SQL skills, and quantitative programming skills in Python or R
- Embodies the Netflix values while bringing a new perspective to continue improving our culture
- Plus: is experienced in developing real-world machine learning models
- Plus: is experienced in driving zero to one projects with proven business impact
