Data is the critical piece to continually improve the systems that power this experience. The personalization data engineering team is responsible for building large, web-scale datasets used for personalizing the Netflix experience. These datasets serve as inputs to the advanced machine learning systems that drive our product innovation. 

About the role

Given the criticality, complexity and scale of our datasets we are looking for a seasoned technical leader to contribute to the technical vision and strategic direction of the Personalization Data team. In this role you will be designing and building data solutions that power the next generation of Netflix’s ML systems to enable newer and faster methods of innovation. We are looking for technologists not only with a proven expertise in distributed systems but also a deeply analytical and curious mindset with a passion for data.

Skills required for this role:

• 10+ years of experience building production data systems on web-scale datasets.
• Proficiency in at least a couple of major programming languages (e.g. Java, Scala, Python) and ability to pick up new technical skills independently.
• Hands on experience with schema design and data modeling, with an unmistakable passion for elegant and intuitive dataset design.

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $150,000 - $900,000
