Your new team at Genmab

You will be part of a multidisciplinary international project team to discover and develop antibody therapeutics. In the New Antibody Products Research department, you will work on identifying and validating targets for our ground-breaking new medicines by the design and execution of cutting-edge research.

The position

  • You are the key point of contact for complex data analyses, access to publicly available databases, and design and organization of internal (big) data.
  • You perform computational analyses and manage bioinformatics projects, both in house as well as outsourced to service providers.
  • You perform ad-hoc analyses for which you implement important steps such as data processing and visualization.
  • You carry out your own in silico projects, to identify novel targets for therapeutic antibodies and to select suitable disease indications.
  • You are able to present complex data, reducing complex problems into intuitive visualizations and explanations that can be presented to a diverse scientific audience.
  • You understand the biological context of projects and this allows you to communicate with people from diverse scientific backgrounds.
  • You develop and implement bioinformatics and computational tools and pipelines to support your work and the organization in general.
  • You work together with other scientists of the team on the discovery of targets for novel antibody based product concepts by providing them analyses, access and guidance to use computational tools.
  • You collaborate with scientists in the Data Science department to integrate bioinformatics knowledge and skills into the projects you support.

What we ask

  • Preferably you hold a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology/immunology or equivalent. MSc graduates are welcome to apply.
  • 1-2 years - or more - of work experience in a similar position within industry or in academia is a plus.
  • You have a background in biology, immunology, oncology and/or (antibody) drug development.
  • You have experience with state-of-the art genomic technologies such as bulk sequencing, single cell sequencing, bioinformatics tools and databases (sequence analysis, resources at NCBI & EBI). Experience with proteomics data and/or CRISPR data is a plus.
  • You have good programming skills (preferably with R) and are experienced in using cloud services for storage and computing.
  • You have a ‘getting things done’ mentality, you are pro-active, enthusiastic and an active team player.
  • You have excellent communicative and relational skills
