Job Description

We are looking for a creative person who will be able to develop innovative solutions, and use their communication skills to highlight customer needs and better understand the problems experienced by experts who use our products. In an agile context, the successful candidate will be required to work closely with product managers, user experience specialists, architects and developers. His technical strengths will be leveraged in the development of a suite of products aimed at maintaining Wolters Kluwer's market leadership position and will allow the company to stay abreast of the various opportunities offered by the latest technologies.

Main responsibilities:

• Perform analysis and understanding of needs for priority requests.
• If necessary, lead productive meetings to exchange ideas (brainstorming, JAD, etc.).
• Develop one or more innovative solutions that meet the needs previously identified in close collaboration with the person responsible for the user experience and the person responsible for the architecture. The proposed solutions will have to integrate the trends of the business field combined with the latest technological trends.
• Ensure that the technical analyzes are carried out by the architects and that they meet expectations.
• Identify the technical constraints and impacts of the solutions identified both from the customer's point of view and from the Wolters Kluwer point of view.
• In an Agile development context, write and develop the specifications according to the solution chosen and approved by the product owner (“Product Owner”).
• Divide the chosen solution into user stories (“User Stories”) and establish the high-level usage diagram if applicable.
• Check the test plan to ensure that it covers all specifications.
• Constantly support the development team in the programming stages, in writing test cases, texts presented to the user and any documentation accompanying the applications.
• Perform high-level testing on the application (usability testing) to ensure that specifications have been met.
• Participate in client meetings in order to maintain and improve knowledge of our clientele and the business sector.
• Actively participate in planning sessions for future iterations, in the definition of roadmaps and the development strategy if applicable.
• Keep up to date with the latest trends in software development and the business field and keep abreast of new technological trends.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or in administration, GIS/GTA profile or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in application development (desktop and/or web).
• Ability to clearly describe the interactions between the user and the software.
• Ability to lead productive meetings to analyze needs or exchange ideas.
• Ability to manage several files simultaneously.
• Ability to identify the customer impacts resulting from the various solutions envisaged or technological choices.
• Great ease in discussing and analyzing technical issues with software developers and architects.
• Excellent communicator, fluent in English and French, both orally and in writing.
• Leadership, proactivity and ability to continuously stimulate discussions and propose solutions.
• Great autonomy and ease of adaptation to various tools, roles and personalities.
• Sense of organization and availability.

Assets:

• Knowledge of Agile methods.
• Knowledge and practical experience in the web domain (HTML5, CSS, angularJS, jquery, etc.).
• Practical development experience in the context of continuous integration (multiple Git repositories, Jenkins continuous build, etc.).
