Job Description

The position is for a Lead Data Scientist in the ELM AI & Data Science team, who will lead AI driven initiatives, driving innovation, and delivering impactful data-driven solutions across the organization. You will also collaborate with developers, data scientists and the business teams to understand business needs and translate them into solutions. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of business objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Model Development:

  • Drive the analysis of complex data sets to extract insights and inform business decisions.
  • Lead the development of predictive models and machine learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to enhance data collection and processing.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists and analysts.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Present complex data insights in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Act as a liaison between the data science team, and other departments.

Innovation and Research:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data science and analytics.
  • Encourage and oversee research and experimentation in new AI technologies.
  • Promote the adoption of cutting-edge tools and techniques within the team.
  • Collaborate with other departs to rapid prototype new AI enabled innovations.

Other Duties:

  • Proactively pursues professional development activities (e.g., establishing personal networks).
  • Manages time and company resources appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as requested by his/her supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience OR, Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology or similar field with 10 years’ experience
  • 5+ years of experience in related field required with supervisory experience is plus.
  • Strong proficiency in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • Expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Ability to visualize data and communicate story.

Preferred Qualifications: (Includes Minimum)

  • Innovator: Needs to have a keen and flexible intellect with strong conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in all phases of AI development lifecycle, with strengths in developing AI enabled solutions.
  • Creativity/ Curiosity: Be resourceful and inventive at defining solutions (AI enabled, Data driven, process based) to business issues.
  • Top Notch Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Relationship Builder: Outstanding relationship management, communication, teamwork, and influence skills to gain consensus from technology, operations and business experts.
  • Results Oriented: Motivated and self-accountable for performance. Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Additional Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for various stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand the data sources and query data as needed.
  • Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, outlook)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies for rapid development
  • Ability to work under tight timeline and have a results-oriented attitude
  • Energetic with a positive attitude, Impeccable professional and personal integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Travel Requirements: might require 5% to 10% of travel.

LI Hybrid onsite remote for NY or Houston office.

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $141,000-$197,550
