ROLE PURPOSE

As Big Data and AI senior manager, you’ll lead a team of talented data scientists that delivers company wide analytical products and solutions with our partner teams in business units via insights & machine learning. This role requires a passion for creating cultural change through data – specifically, by applying new and innovative methods, data sources, and agile development practices to solve Vodafone’s most pressing commercial challenges.

Job Responsibility

Your Place in the team

• Hire, coach and lead a team of data scientists
• Work closely with Data Scientists to incorporate the latest thinking in Big Data Analytics
• Develop and implement AI and data science strategy
• Communicate strategy and analytic results in an actionable and non-technical manner to department leaders
• Handle complex structured and unstructured data sets from internal and external sources. Create and support models
• Accountable for delivery of prioritised Big Data Analytics use cases, value and insights generation
• Manage Big Data Analytics demand management governance 
• Contribute to building a group-wide analytics community

We are looking for you if you have

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s/PHDdegree preferred) in computer science, engineering, statistics,math or other quantitative decision sciences
• 8+ years of progressive experience in data science and modeling, including use of structured and unstructured data (preferably in a business setup)
• 3+ years of experience leading team of data scientists and a track record of developing teams to produce successful data science solutions that deliver significant business outcomes/benefit
• Having a deep technical background in applied data science, spanning some or all of: statistics, experimentation, machine learning, causal methods and behavioral analytics.
• Deep experience applying analytical tools, techniques, and processes to solve business issues
• Experience in NLP will be a plus
• Proficiency in working with tools like Python, Spark, Hive, SQL
• Exposure to big data systems such as Hadoop HDFS, Hive is a plus
• Business acumen and understanding key value levers within the business that can be targeted by analytics
• Able to translate raw analytics insights into business-centric language and actions
• Strong stakeholder management across multiple functions within a global vertical/matrix organisation
• Skilled at operating in a complex, cross-functional organization or company where collaboration and integration with other teams across multiple disciplines is essential to the success of your team
• Experience in the Big Data Analytics space (methods, technology, data) including statistical modelling and machine learning experience 
• Successfully managed the end to end delivery of insights and value, including resourcing, budgeting and prioritisation
• Experience delivering effectively in a fast paced environment with an ability to adapt quickly 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills: able to explain Analytics in non-technical terms to business users and other diverse audiences
• Strong interpersonal skills, written / verbal communication skills

This role has a LI-Hybrid working model
