About the Role

The sensor validation engineer will define and implement the testing plans for sensor modules and sensor subsystems, set up the testing environments and execute the validation test. This role will work with individual sensor engineering teams, as well as other cross-functional teams to improve the design maturity towards production.

About the Work

• Work with individual sensor teams to define the testing and validation plan for sensor hardware modules and sensor subsystems.
• Work with the system team to close the validation gap between module/subsystem and autonomous vehicle system.
• Define, build and maintain various testing benches and execute the validation test according to predefined plans. 
• Clearly document the progress, status, and discovery during validation, and drive relevant teams towards a solution.
• Participate in defining and enforcing hardware/firmware/software release processes on sensor products. 
• Support sensor pod integration (bench and vehicle level) and manufacturing.

About You

• Degree in Physics, ME, EE, CS or related fields. 
• Experience with testing and validation plans, and release processes.
• Experience with scripting languages for testing automation and data analysis, such as Python.
• Experience working on automotive sensors
• Ability to do hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics at both system and module levels.
• Strong quantitative analysis, data visualization, documentation and communication skills(both written and verbal).
• Collaborative and proactive to help others (teams).
• Self motivated looking for opportunities for improvement. 
• Passionate about working in a fast paced environment.

Bonus Points

• Experience with AV sensors, such as Lidar, Radar, camera, and navigation sensors.
• Experience with AV hardware modules, such as AV computers, ethernet switches and ECUs. 
• Experience with hardware in loop test (HIL)
• Autonomy vehicle/system bring-up/debug experience.
