Job Description

The Coca-Cola Category team is seeking a highly skilled advisor to join our category team. This role is integral to our category management team, supporting 5 merchants on the Sam’s Club account. As a Category Director, you will leverage your strong technical skills, customer relationships, people leadership, and strategic thinking to develop strategies alongside the merchants to optimize space and assortment. You will manage and improve an annual assortment optimization process side-by-side with the merchants to drive category growth.

Key Responsibilities:

People Leadership: Lead and develop a cross functional team that supports the Sam’s Club beverage business. At Coca-Cola, our people are the key. In this role, you will lead the insights, strategies, and technical capabilities for our Total Beverage advisorship at Sam’s Club. 

Technical Analysis and Reporting: Utilize Tableau, Alteryx and Excel to analyze complex data sets and create and maintain visuals for key stakeholders

Data Management: Collect, clean, aggregate, combine and maintain data to ensure accuracy and reliability for analysis and reporting; Including from data sources like Nielsen, Circana, and Numerator Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for five Sam’s Club merchants, understanding their needs, both tactical and strategic, to deliver tailored and custom solutions and strategies

Insights / Strategic: Develop fact-based insights to develop assortment strategies for merchants; combine insights from various sources to build a cohesive recommendation for the merchants assortment

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including space and shopper functions to support the merchants and help them build their strategy

Continuous improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve processes, reporting, datasets, automation

Assortment and Space management: Draw and maintain store specific planograms; optimizing both assortment and space strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in data analysis, category management, and/or space analytics
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tableau, Alteryx, Excel are essential. Experience with SQL, Python a plus
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actional insights
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs
  • Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail at both breadth and depth
  • Category / Space: JDA/Blue Yonder, ShelfIQ and Cantactix experience is all a plus

Pay Range:

$153,000 – $175,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
