This position is based in Vantaa, and we are working closely with our other Immunodiagnostics division colleagues in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. We are the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.

Our Finland locations include Vantaa and Joensuu, employing over 800 professionals supporting functions such as production, instrument and reagent manufacturing, R&D, marketing, sales, quality, administrative support, and supply chain. We hire experts in different fields including engineering, chemistry, microbiology, and bioinformatics. Our Vantaa site develops pipettes and microplate instruments as well as clinical chemistry and industrial chemistry analysers, laboratory automation solutions and food safety kits. It is conveniently located close to the Vantaankoski railway station.

How will you make an impact?

As a (Senior) Data Scientist, you bring wealth of analytical thinking to our Vantaa Team to help us in providing healthcare professionals with advanced diagnostic technologies.

You will, for example:

• Participate in defining right data sources, collecting, and analysing large amount of data.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product and project management, and verification teams by communicating your data analysis results.
• Contribute to building coherent data strategy.
• Participate in different kind of investigations relevant to our customer support.
• Communicate your results for both technical and non-technical audience.

How will you get there

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from suitable area (e.g., engineering, computer science, information technology).
• Proven experience as Data Scientist or Data Analyst, including analytical and statistical expertise, and programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with data science tools (analysis, visualization, etc.)
• You are analytical and love to solve challenges with data.
• You are clear in communicating your intensions, collaborating with your peers, and proficient in English language.
