Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

The Document AI team solves the document parsing, understanding, and enrichment issues. Multimodal and text LLMs are transforming the industry, and enabling unheard of accuracy across many applications. We focus on leveraging the best of traditional techniques and LLMs to understand the deep structure and content of documents, improvements to document understanding cascade and uplift the entire product quality of many downstream applications. Document AI improvements unlocks sought after document processing, search, and chat applications over often complex and multimodal document corpora. We are building the foundation of all applications involving a document across Cloud, powering rapidly growing teams such as Vertex AI Search.

Responsibilities

  • Hire talent and build a high performing team culture.
  • Design and build reliable, highly available, maintainable, and scalable services.
  • Orchestrate long-running pipelines to power training and serving workflows.
  • Enhance document understanding by working closely with various teams across Google.
  • Integrate text Large Language Model (LLM), multimodal LLMs, and other machine learning models into diverse training and serving systems.
