Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for leading, executing and engaging with operational aspects of Data Science and Analytics function in Grid Engineering- Electrification Software focused on building advanced analytics for Grid. You will be responsible for pursuing the execution of AI/ML and Data Science programs with a high degree of autonomy.
You will be leading a team of data scientists, analytics engineers and functional resources responsible for building data science and analytics solutions in a commercial technology and product development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development and deployment of new, commercially re-usable analytic solutions for addressing complex problems across the digital energy value chain for our customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a cross-disciplinary global team of highly qualified and talented data scientists, analytics engineers and functional resources aligned to AI/ML, Data Science and Analytics initiatives
- Lead the execution of roadmap and strategy for AI/ML and advanced analytics for Transmission and Distribution Grid, APM Reliability and Strategy
- Partner with data and analytics engineering leadership to establish vision and goals of data science and analytics function
- Partner with the Product and Engineering, Customer Success, Sales and Commercial functions to determine business priorities and outcomes and deliver innovative analytic products
- Lead with a hands-on approach - drive accountability to deliver world class analytics, and grow the team’s capability set from both depth and breadth perspective
- Actively work with cross functional teams, management and key stakeholders to manage initiatives/programs, review progress and functional delivery on a regular committed basis and ensure seamless integration of team’s work into overall strategic objectives
- Contribute to establishing reference architecture and foundations with tooling, engineering and platform capabilities to enhance internal productivity and speed and scale of advanced analytics and AI/ML based digital solutions
- Develop and maintain relationships with analytics and engineering domain experts; demonstrate strong communication and networking skills and reasons through
complex situations with strength in identifying and mitigating risks
- Effectively communicate (i.e. status, issues, and escalations) to leadership and other various levels of the organization
- Mentor and Coach GE employees on career navigation, managing conflict, and how to operate in a volatile, uncertain world
- Recruit, hire, and retain talent to address org/business needs
- Demonstrate solid engineering and technology leadership to help organization gain the
competitive edge through differentiated and innovative technologies
- Provide competitive landscapes, technology forecasting and intellectual property
strategies to the business
- Identify key technical challenges and focus resources to produce cutting-edge technical
breakthroughs in design of machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to solve
industrial problems at GE Digital
- Lead strategic analytic product development, data science collaborations and evaluation of emerging analytics technologies with internal/ external technology partners
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Science, AI/ML or Advanced Analytics Development OR PhD with minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Science, AI/ML or Advanced Analytics Development
