HR functions are on the edge of shifting to Data Driven decision making with huge amounts of data on their most important asset – people. The GE Vernova Corporate HR team is looking for a Data Scientist to join the Strategy & Analytics Team and help drive action and progress in support of our people strategy. This includes development of fit-for-purpose KPIs, dashboards and other analyzes that align with our priorities.

Key expectations of the role include data blending, in-depth analyses , solutions development, and upskilling of the HR function to elevate our use of people data and insights. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead data-driven and evidence-based research on people metrics, reporting, and advanced / predictive analytics to support the HR function.
  • Translate data analyzes and insights into visualizations to facilitate insights on high-priority topics such as diversity, headcount, attrition, engagement and more.
  • Support employee listening activities including data management, data analysis, end-user access/visibility, reporting, data visualization, and benchmarking.
  • Translate data insights into a compelling story for a range of audiences including senior HR leadership, executive leadership team and Board of Directors .
  • Collaborate with analytics contacts within the businesses to facilitate best practice sharing, trouble shooting, and needs analysis.
  • Develop resources and materials to upskill HR function colleagues on usage, interpretation and application of people data/insights.
  • Contribute to one-time analyses, special projects, initiatives for the HR Strategy & Analytics function.
  • Monitor key metrics to identify concerning patterns/trends.
  • Partner with the People Analytics Leader and other HR leaders on designing data research, defining hypotheses, aggregating data and running multiple different statistical models.
  • Experiment with a mix of platforms, programs and programming to develop algorithms around attrition, recruitment, and other key people metrics.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve data and data source issues.
  • Ensure all data privacy requirements are upheld in the access to and dissemination of reports.
  • Ensure high standards of accuracy and quality are maintained.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or significant experience in HR data analytics or related discipline, or equivalent experience/knowledge
  • Relevant experience in analytics (not specifically HR), with a proven track record of delivering value added insights, ideally within a multinational organization.
  • Experience in visualization techniques, and analysis approaches in which you manage and analyze both structured and unstructured data .
  • Experience in advanced statistical methods around hypothesis testing, clustering, machine learning predictions, and text mining.
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to assess data and trends using both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.
  • Experience modeling high dimensional data.
  • Experience with tools and languages ​​such as Python, R, Tableau, and in the design and implementation of data pipelines that support the continuous delivery of insights.

The salary range for this positions is 88,100 -117,400 146,800 USD annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
