Job Description

Reporting directly to the ITC Executive Leader, the Sr. Director of Technology Management will be part of the ITC Leadership Team responsible for leading GEA’s export jurisdiction and classification program, including driving consistent export classification processes across all global sites, data analytics on classification process capacity and accuracy for continuous improvement. In this role, you will be challenged to leverage cutting-edge process automation and artificial intelligence solutions for rapid risk-mitigated classification determinations, deployment and maintenance of classification training curricula and robust methodologies to meet cost and performance metrics. In this newly created role, you will have an opportunity to build and shape GEA’s trade compliance program as it emerges as a separate corporate entity, expected sometime in 2024. Key responsibilities

  • Developing a high-performing team of full and part-time personnel and setting the strategic vision for export jurisdiction and classification;
  • Interact with business units to understand GEA’s products, technology, software, and services and assist company organizations with the implementation of classification requirements;
  • Develop processes, procedures, and training to ensure sustained compliance with export regulations and corporate policies for export of technology, commodities (including systems, components, and parts), software and services;
  • Direct effective implementation of corporate requirements and complex classification determinations through the GEA Export Technology Review Board (ETRB);
  • Provide business customers day-to-day guidance in export classification; and
  • Work with business unit Taggers to help them develop, implement, and manage tailored trade compliance IT systems, processes, and procedures and identify and mitigate compliance risks throughout the company;
  • Prepare and submit jurisdiction or classification determinations to appropriate government regulatory authorities, when required;
  • Provide classification support for export authorizations, compliance investigations, mergers and acquisition transactions;
  • Draft export classification-related policies and procedures and supporting development and deployment of policies, procedures, tools, and other infrastructure within ITC and within the business;
  • Perform export classification-related audits and assessments of global sites, functions, and programs;
  • Monitor jurisdiction and classification-related proposed laws and regulations and provide advice to business stakeholders regarding implications and requirements on GEA’s business strategy;
  • Participate in relevant trade compliance associations and industry group discussions;
  • Lead engagement and communication with government officials, as required;
  • Identify, analyze and implement robust export classification-related systems and IT tools to enhance export classification performance; and

Minimum Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Engineering or Technical B.S. Degree with 8+ years of experience in a technical discipline

  • Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to acquire GEA product technical knowledge, strong analytical, project management, interpersonal, leadership, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with global PLM systems such as Upchain, Arena, Autodesk Fusion, SAP PLM, Teamcenter, Unigraphics, and other Engineering and Quality IT systems preferred. Must be a collaborative team player, possess multi-tasking abilities, have a client focus, adaptive, and work effectively in a time sensitive and dynamic environment
