Job Description

Stellantis is looking for a highly motivated intern to join our team and contribute to research on Explainable Machine Learning. As an intern, you will work on several research projects in collaboration with internal and external researchers, as well as with applied engineering teams. You will be integrated into all aspects of the research cycle, such as formulating problems, generating hypotheses, developing new algorithms and models, performing experiments, synthesizing results, collecting data, creating prototypes and communicating about your research.

 Your results will contribute to high-impact business applications, with potential applications in NLP and Time Series. During the internship, you will have the opportunity to apply local attribution methods such as SHAP or LIME.

 Challenges that may be addressed during the internship include:

• Developing and researching robust methods for the explainability of time series data, where feature importance requires consistent treatment of temporal dependence.
• The practical application of responsible AI regarding bias and fairness, and how explainability techniques can be used to build robust ML and Data Science pipelines.
• Taking into account uncertainty in the prediction and analysis of explainability. Your results will actually contribute to business applications and internal Python packages. As part of your internship, you will work in a cloud environment using Databricks, while learning best practices from the team.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related fields – Strong skills in probability and statistics are required – Programming skills in Python – Advanced understanding of fundamental techniques in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, in particular, models based on decision trees, NLP and time series – Experience in statistical data analysis
