Slalom is a consulting firm that helps clients improve their futures through data. The Data & Analytics team co-creates strategic direction and initiatives with clients. At Slalom, we continue to expand our offerings and accumulate customer stories to accelerate innovation and learning for our clients. 

Slalom is looking for a Principal to lead and grow our Data & Analytics team in Tokyo . This principal builds lasting relationships with a group of business, technology, and vendor partners to help define modern, outcome-based data solutions that deliver long-term value for clients. Principle delivers business-focused, creative, and high-quality technology solutions that help clients solve their most important challenges.

• Drive sales and operations for a rapidly growing practice area 
• Mentor and develop consultants of all skill and experience levels 
• Solve our clients most critical and difficult problems with cloud based modern data architectures and advanced analytics 
• Build innovative solutions on data platforms to support our clients, helping them fully leverage and organize their enterprise data to drive advanced analytics 
• Create a fun and collaborative team where everyone can be themselves and are provided the opportunity to love their work and life

What You’ll Bring 

• Business fluency in both English and Japanese (Written and Verbal) 
• 10+ years of data architecture, business intelligence, and/or consulting experience 
• Experience on any of the cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud); certification preferred 
• Proficiency in relational database design and development, big data technologies, 
• Experience in languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go 
• Proficiency with both Linux and Windows 
• An analytical approach to problem-solving and ability to use technology to solve business problems 
• Passion for learning new technologies 

Required skills and experience 

• 10+ years of data architecture, business intelligence, and/or consulting experience. 
• Experience with one of the cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud). It is desirable to have a qualification. 
• Familiarity with relational database design and development and big data technology. 
• Experience with programming languages ​​such as Python, Java, Scala, and Go. 
• Must be familiar with both Linux and Windows. 
• Analytical approach to problem solving and ability to use technology to solve business problems. 
• Passion for learning new skills. 
• Must be able to speak Japanese and English fluently
