Senior Data Science Consultant

What You’ll Do

  • Support clients during the discovery, brainstorming, and prioritization of advanced analytics use cases.
  • Design, develop, evaluate and modify unsupervised, supervised, and reinforcement machine learning algorithms in the context of solving business problems.
  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques.
  • Identify third-party data sources, as needed, to improve the performance of models.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis in support of the client’s needs during the engagement.
  • Partner with client, partner, and Slalom resources to automate and operationalize data collection, analysis, and publication of insights.
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Present and communicate insights, model results, and resultant recommendations to key client stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in commercial applications of qualitative, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and machine learning models.
  • Experience with linear algebra and mathematical optimization algorithms, stochastic and deterministic approaches (i.e., convex optimization, Bayesian Optimization, Linear Programming, Gradient Descent, particle Swarm algorithms, etc.).
  • Experience with navigating common optimization libraries such as Pulp, Gurobi, CPLEX, PySwarm,
  • Exceptional work experience with Python, preferably with working experience with one or more public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Databricks.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial and open-source statistical and analytics tools (e.g. Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, Hive, Pig, etc.).
  • Experience with large data sets, 3rd party data acquisition, and operating in a cloud environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on presentation skills.

Hybrid/In office: We are hybrid but there are expectations that if your team leader requires you onsite that you are able to meet those expectations/requirements
