Job Description

Some Responsibilities Include: 

  • Engaging with our business partners to lead/assist and design End to End solutions that integrate one or many of cloud, COTS, systems integration, AI, automation, IoT, API and other multi-vendor capabilities and become their trusted advisor and co-create and design innovative solutions 
  • Strong communication skills to engage with senior leaders at a business unit as well as functional & industry leaders within Labcorp 
  • Establish strong working relationships with business and technology leaders in order to drive investment planning, portfolio planning and execution.
  • Define the reference and implementation architectures for solutions and accelerators
  • Collaborating with Platform, Solution, Application and Data Architects towards creating industry leading approaches, architecture design and solutions in a rapidly evolving development environment
  • Be known as an influencer and a recognized thought leader, with proven track record translating business problems into patterns that combine one or many capabilities that solve the problem 
  • Acts as a trusted advisor for the business implementations to ensure architecture and design principles are upheld
  • Leading design thinking workshops and build and test new technologies
  • Work across IT to drive capability-led investment planning decisions
  • Stay current with industry technology trends and introduce best practices to our Company's IT
  • Drive the notion of reusable architecture assets & standards such as current-state business/technology capability maps as well as future state planning roadmaps across all of IT.
  • Partner with architects and capability owners in the other business units to re-use the best available technologies and processes to power the business
  • Apply risk-based decision making to complex problems and consult with relevant subject matter advisors as needed to inform the decision
  • Prepare and deliver executive level briefings and communicate complex topics effectively to a diverse executive audience.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years prior experience in Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems & Application, Solution Architectures.
  • 1+ years in a management role
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders and navigate across conflicting priorities to balance critical tactical and strategic needs.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - able to effectively communicate complex concepts in simple ways.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a variety of audiences and stakeholders including executive management, business leaders, IT peers, and colleagues worldwide.
  • Strategic thinker, with demonstrated ability to work in a broad and top-down manner with a fair amount of ambiguity at the center.
  • Results-orientation with the proven ability and reputation for developing plans and implementing them successfully.
  • Demonstrated leadership in achieving shared objectives in a matrix organization, managing cross-divisional initiatives, and cross-functional teams in an extremely dynamic environment.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, driven leader who with little direction can fill in the gaps as to what is needed, and drive expected results.
  • Demonstrated ability to envision the future and rally the organization / people towards a common goal

Technical

  • Preferred – Lab systems \ Pharma \ Heavily regulated systems
  • System integration methodologies \ design - ESB, API, REST, etc.
  • Performance \ Scale \ Availability design and troubleshooting
  • Modern security technologies for authentication \ authorization and securing data
  • Web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture including microservices, enterprise application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints;
  • Current agile methodologies, specifically Scrum
  • Web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap framework, AngularJS, Spring, Nodejs, jQuery
  • Data architecture, data modeling and data management across relational, columnar and noSQL technologies like SQL, Oracler, MongoDB
  • Big data technologies like Hadoop (Hortwonworks, Cloudera) Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch and others
  • Service design, creation and orchestration using ESBs like Mulesoft, Talend; TIBCO, MQ
  • Cloud based components implementation \ integrations \ migrations Azure, Google Cloud, AWS (preferred)
