About the Team

The Occupational Testing Services/Toxicology Division at Labcorp provides industry leading services for compliance drug testing for medication management, clinical urine drug testing, medication assisted treatment compliance, pre-employment and federally regulated drug testing. The OTS team at Research Triangle Park is a cohesive group of highly motivated team members who strive everyday to provide high quality and timely drug testing services for our partners and clients.

Internship Assignment Summary

• Complete a hands-on laboratory urine drug testing method validation project on Hamilton Liquid Handling systems, LC-MS/MS and/or automated immunoassay analyzers
• Analyze large data sets to gain insights on drug use trends from comprehensive drug testing results from patients receiving opioid related pain management or medication assisted treatment. This type of analyses will help the intern learn data mining techniques.
• Engage in learning about processes involved in high-through put urine drug testing and identify process improvement opportunities

Education/Qualifications/Skills

• Working towards bachelor’s degree in STEM Majors, Biology, Chemistry or other scientific disciplines
• Has interest in data mining and learning to deal with big data sets
• Has experience working in a team environment
• Has experience delivering multiple projects in an academic or professional setting
• Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and internal/external colleagues
• Embraces diverse ways of thinking through various forms collaboration and partnership
