Responsibilities

 This position will combine Data Analytics and Reliability Engineering expertise to conduct analysis and determine causes and recommended corrective actions on Army Aviation component and systems removed for overhaul. This position will review Tear Down Analysis reports identifying primary failure modes and drivers of component removals and return to depot for repair. This includes identifying all conditions that led to failures in the field or reasons assets were removed without causable condition for depot repair. Immediate assignments will focus on identification of main drivers of equipment removals and reliability drivers.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize business intelligence and analytics software to design, develop and implement data science initiatives, analytics and visualizations supporting Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to identify maintenance drivers and develop opportunities for improvement in design, processes, and policies for Army Aviation systems.
  • Develop drafts or recommendations and/or substantiation of depot and field level maintenance policies and procedures, modifications, upgrades, repairs, technical data revision/improvement, field inspection, corrosion prevention and control, developing new depot and field maintenance concepts through analysis of defects in new and existing aircraft.
  • Articulate best practices using Reliability Centered Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) data inputs to drive maintenance tasks and increase readiness availability within Combat Aviation Brigades.
  • Plan, develop, and conduct analysis programs or studies to establish the feasibility of systems/subsystems/components meeting requirements and/or adequacy of design for CBM+.
  • Provide support in areas such as aviation maintenance, reliability engineering, equipment teardown analysis and failure analysis.
  • Report status of projects accurately and timely including key issues, delays in timelines, and timely escalation to key stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Perform Analysis of Alternatives for Technical Solutions as a part of the Governance Process and in limited cases work with vendors to develop implementation schedules for production of required solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5 years relevant experience.
  • Thorough understanding of business intelligence and analytics software for data science, analytics and visualizations required. (Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, etc.)
  • Understanding of Six Sigma DMAIC approach highly desired (Green belt or higher certification desired)
  • Understanding of Army Aviation Maintenance highly desired.
  • Experience with policies and practices of Reliability Centered Maintenance preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through both oral and written communication between multiple stakeholders both government and contractor.
  • Proven record in training technical procedures and methods.
  • Up to 5% travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of aircraft propulsion systems design, development, and analysis. Knowledge and experience working with databases to extract, clean and join data sets for analysis. (Alteryx, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Army Database software applications such as ULLS-A, RIMFIRE, MCDS, JDRS, PDREP, TAMMS-A.
