ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Data Architect Lead to join our Architecture team. As the Enterprise Data Architect Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise-wide data architecture strategy and ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of our organization's data assets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive data governance initiatives, define data standards, and provide technical leadership in data-related projects.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide data architecture strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and sustainable data architecture solutions.
  • Design and maintain the enterprise data model, data dictionaries, and data flow diagrams, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and reusability.
  • Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of data management tools, technologies, and frameworks to support data integration, storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of data architects, data engineers, and other data professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Collaborate with software architects and development teams to ensure data architecture principles are applied in the design and development of applications and systems.
  • Identify opportunities for data consolidation, rationalization, and standardization to improve data quality, efficiency, and accessibility across the enterprise.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of the data architecture to identify areas for improvement, address performance bottlenecks, and optimize data-related processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architecture, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the organization's data capabilities.

Qualifications

What makes you an ideal candidate?

  • Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices, including data modeling, data integration, data warehousing, and data governance.
  • Proficiency in data management technologies and tools such as relational databases, data lakes, ETL/ELT tools, data modeling tools, and metadata management tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure (preferred) , GCP) and familiarity with modern data architecture patterns and technologies (e.g., data streaming, big data, NoSQL).
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements related to data privacy, data protection, and data governance in the financial services industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data professionals and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in driving data governance initiatives, establishing data standards, and ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer, Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience required
  • 12+ years corporate management experience with increasing architectural responsibility in large enterprises required 
  • 8+ years architecting solutions in multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud environments required
  • 5+ years architecting data solutions for customers required
  • 5+ years working in a highly regulated business domain such as financial services or health care preferred
