About the Role:

The Strategic Initiatives Analyst II will support the development and deployment of GM Financial's strategic planning framework. The framework assists leadership in understanding emerging trends (e.g., AI, digital, autonomous, etc.) and developing a strategic roadmap to create and maintain competitive advantage. This role will work cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives in the capacity of financial modeling and competitive intelligence research. The Strategic Initiatives Analyst II will also support business case development and lead investment analysis in evaluating new lines of business and/or strategic capabilities. Additionally, as strategic initiatives emerge and grow into execution, it is expected that the role will continue to play an analytical role.

JOB DUTIES

• Lead market assessment and competitive intelligence activities as a foundation to provide emerging trend insights
• Support the development of business cases with cross-functional project team members and lead financial modeling workstreams
• Cultivate a useful library of data sources
• Contribute to ongoing incubation of emerging business lines
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Conform with all company policies and procedures

STRATEGIC AREAS IN SCOPE:

• Partnerships with auto finance digital disruptors and mobility companies
• Fintech and insurance company acquisitions or alliances
• Direct to consumer business models
• Innovative technologies that improve the customer experience and support vision of zero crashes, zero congestion, zero emissions, zero friction; such as software, machine learning, and generative AI

Qualifications

What would make you a great candidate?

• Financial modeling and valuation of financial statements
• Experience in strategic planning, strategic development, or FP&A
• Ability to collaborate effectively while working cross-functionally
• Self-starter with a strong commitment to timelines, accuracy, and communication

What would make you more competitive?

• Knowledge of captive Financial Services operations
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills

Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required
• 2-4 years of experience in strategic planning, strategic development or FP&A required
