Research Assistant

The Institute for International Programs (IIP) in the Department of International Health requires a Research Assistant to support the Rapid Mortality Surveillance during COVID-19 (RaMMPS) project.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • The major responsibilities of this position are to participate in data analysis and manuscript preparation and support dissemination of results and knowledge products.
  • The research assistant will also assist with reports, data collection, literature review, dissemination of research results, and participation in proposal development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in quantitative research, data analysis, data management, literature review, and synthesis are preferred.
  • Prior publication history will be an advantage.
  • Data science skills with R / Python language would be an advantage.

Classified Title: Research Assistant

Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD 

Starting Salary Range: Min $17.00 - Max $30.00 HRLY ($48,880 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Casual / On Call

Schedule: Monday - Friday Other 25-30 Hours

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
