Job Description

Builds and manages a team of highly qualified data scientists with a specific focus on developing and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs)/Generative Pre-Trained (GPT) models. Builds relationships with business partners, allocates resources and prioritizes projects to support LLM/Generative AI use cases across the enterprise and ensures the projects are delivered in a timely manner.

A thought leader on AI/ML who works with various stakeholders across the enterprise including Model Risk, Compliance and Legal departments.

Maintains a high level of competency in Gen AI/LLM tools and techniques and supports the advancement of the “best-in-class” analytical capabilities to unlock new capabilities and performance and quickly adapt to modern modeling technique.

Provides strategic direction and executes innovation and processes improvement initiatives to enhance model quality and efficiency.

Motivates and mentors the team of data scientists to grow their skills and careers, focused on creating a nurturing environment which encourages innovation and continuous learning.

Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Build and manage a team of highly skills AI/ML data scientists specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Model (LLM) and/or Generative pre-trained models.
• Manage the team to build models for Operations team across DFS.
• Operate as a senior thought partner with operations team to assimilate ideas for NLP/LLM/GPT based applications.
• Manage the team to work with the Marketing team across DFS to evaluate vendors using AI/ML tools within their services.
• Work with model risk, compliance, and legal teams to ensure adherence to banking regulations.

Qualifications:

•  Education:
• Minimum: Master’s degree in Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Statistics required.
• Preferred: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Work Experience:
• Minimum: 10+ yrs. experience in Data Science, Modeling, Analytics, Software Development, Application Development, Information Technology, Engineering or related.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $147,000.00 to $223,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
