Job Description

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and implement models and algorithms to solve complex supply chain problems using operations research, data science, and machine learning technologies
• Deep dive large supply chain data to explain change, develop insights, and provide recommendations
• Partner with Supply Chain's functional areas (with Demand Planning, S&OP, Transportation, and Supply Planning) to develop to optimize our Supply Chain across the board Implement process improvement initiatives that drive improvements to the metrics and streamline the Supply Chain
• Mentor and support a team of Data Scientists in developing new models and algorithms in the Inventory Optimization space

What You’ll Need:

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred, not required) in Operations Research, Information Systems, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering
• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying optimization or machine learning models
• Practical experience in supply chain optimization solutions preferred, but not required
• High level of proficiency in SQL, R or Python
• Ability to use collaborative programming tools (Git, Confluence, etc.)
• Ability to translate complex data sets and research into simple business recommendations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing requirements
• Experience in leading and mentoring team of scientists
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to effectively operate independently and as part of a team in an E-commerce organization
• This position requires occasional business travel

Compensation & Benefits:

Our salary range for a Research Scientist III position is $122,500 - $196,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
