Agile Release Manager

Air Force TENCAP exploits National space, cyber and intelligence capabilities to deliver rapid, cost-dominant and innovative warfighting solutions across the full spectrum of Air Force and Joint military missions. AF TENCAP is a Congressionally-mandated rapid acquisition organization supporting tactical and operational warfighters, and serves as the Air Force executive agent for the Military Exploitation of Reconnaissance and Intelligence Technologies (MERIT) program. As the Air Force's leader for National-to-Tactical capability development, AF TENCAP collaborates with leading experts across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, National Laboratories, industry, inter-agency, academia, and partner nations.

We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to support the strategic planning and tactical execution of various engineering efforts. Specifically, the full lifecycle of wide-ranging software and hardware projects within AF TENCAP. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for learning, the drive to innovate and a humble attitude. You will work cutting edge projects, solving problems that most aren't even aware exist.

Work Location:

Colorado Springs, CO - 100% On Site

Security Clearance:

Active TS/SCI or Active TS with T5/SSBI within last two years

Required Experience and Education:

BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or general STEM. Other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience

Typical Work Can Include, But Not Limited To:

  • Creating plans for the implementation and deployment of software releases according to project deliverables, requirements, and budget
  • Employ, and lead the development team using Agile practices and techniques
  • Lead the development teams in: self-organization, conflict resolution, risk management, removal of impediments and escalate when appropriate
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including: customer, vendors, project manager, systems & architectural engineers, data scientists, and end-users
  • Arrange customer and stakeholder meetings to meet project objectives
  • Schedule software product reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release
  • Support the customer and development team to achieve business value. Assist in the alignment of software deliveries to product roadmaps
  • Identify software and program risks and assist in their management
  • Communicate project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams
  • Assist the development teams to identify any improvements in the development framework
  • Track the progress of planned releases, and infrastructure updates; and discover issues, if any of defect backlogs
  • Design and implement Key Performance Indicators; drive towards data driven decisioning
  • Maintain documentation related to above
  • Coach and mentor junior members
  • Exercise latitude and judgement in devising and meeting organizational goals and intent
  • Analyze and think critically, when triaging team issues based on priority, impact, risk, release timing; resolve conflict

Required Skills: 

  • Certification(s) in at least one of the following: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
  • At least five years of experience in an agile development environment
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and experience with successful Agile techniques
  • At least five years of experience providing support to DoD Service organizations and/or Intelligence Community agencies
  • Ability to analyze and think quickly; resolve conflict; intellectually curious
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Coordinating with project stakeholders, including: customer, vendors, project manager, systems & architectural engineers, data scientists, and end-users
  • Extensive working knowledge of Agile software such as Jira, Kanban boards, etc

Desired Skills:

  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Strong interpersonal skills and resourceful
  • Good understanding of Cloud engineering solutions and services
  • Experience in Unified or Systems Modeling Languages
  • Experience in Department of Defense Architecture Framework

Basic Compensation: $81,800k - $122,800k

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
