Junior Electronic Warfare RF Design Engineer

The KBR team in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join us in supporting our great nation, specifically on the Air Force Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (TENCAP) HOPE contract. The candidate will provide AF TENCAP with RF engineering support in areas of: electronic warfare, electronic protection, antenna design, signal processing, as we all general support for the development and fielding of various software and hardware systems.

Air Force TENCAP exploits National space, cyber and intelligence capabilities to deliver rapid, cost-dominant and innovative warfighting solutions across the full spectrum of Air Force and Joint military missions. AF TENCAP is a Congressionally-mandated rapid acquisition organization supporting tactical and operational warfighters, and serves as the Air Force executive agent for the Military Exploitation of Reconnaissance and Intelligence Technologies (MERIT) program. As the Air Force's leader for National-to-Tactical capability development, AF TENCAP collaborates with leading experts across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, National Laboratories, industry, inter-agency, academia, and partner nations.

We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to support the strategic planning and tactical execution of various engineering efforts. Specifically, the full lifecycle of wide ranging software and hardware projects within AF TENCAP. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for learning, the drive to innovate and a humble attitude. You will work cutting edge projects, solving problems that most aren't even aware exist.

Work Location: Colorado Springs, CO - 100% On Site

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI or Active TS with T5/SSBI within last two years. 

Required Experience and Education:

BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or general STEM. Other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with programming (scripting) languages (i.e. Bash, Python, .Net or Java)
  • Experience as an Electronic Warfare engineer
  • Sound knowledge of RF/Antenna Theory
  • Sound knowledge of EM spectrum/principles
  • Knowledge of advanced signal processing techniques and concepts
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies
  • Experience with testing/integration/operation of EW systems
  • Experience working in a RF lab environment
  • Experience with integration of software/hardware
  • Knowledge of RED satellite capabilities

Desired Skills:

  • Experience as a formal instructor, teacher or tutor
  • Experience in Space or ISR
  • Algorithm development experience
  • Software development experience (i.e. C++, Java, C)
  • Experience with IC, USSF, USAF or other DOD entities
  • Experience working with any intelligence disciplines (i.e. SIGINT, OSINT, MASINT, GEOINT, HUMINT)
  • Experience with integration/test of complex EW software/hardware systems
  • Experience in analyzing EW intelligence databases
  • Knowledge on constructing emitters to resemble emitter modes and antenna models
  • Experience with signal analysis and exploitation
  • Experience in RF phenomenology specific to collection and processing methodology
  • Experience in RF sensors to include tasking, command & control, collection, mission processing, and dissemination
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processors and the application to perform traditional and non-traditional functions

Basic Compensation: $64,400k - $96,600k

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity. 

Additional Compensation: 

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
