MBRDNA is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with key areas of Autonomous Driving, Advanced Interaction Design, Digital User Experience, Machine Learning, Customer Research, and Open Innovation. In Farmington Hills, Michigan, the focus is on Powertrain and eDrive technology as well as in Long Beach, where the teams test durability of the latest driver assistant and telematic systems. The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services. The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for delivery and support of IT solutions to MBRDNA. This position may oversee one of the primary service towers (Network, Data Center, Digital Workplace, Service Desk) or service areas provided by our vendor. This position will also be the primary IT contact for all services and solutions consumed at their respective site(s).

Job Responsibilities:

• Solution Design and Implementation:
• Systems Engineering and operational support, leveraging the knowledge and skills of senior team members where necessary
• Analyzes and specifies technical requirements for on-prem and cloud based infrastructure
• Performs technical feasibility checks for new proposed solutions
• Designs and implements on-prem and cloud based infrastructure concepts and solutions

• Service Tower Lead/Service Area Lead:

• Own and lead the delivery of data center and network services, as provided by vendors
• Ownership is defined as:
• Accountable for overall performance of the service
• Taking the initiative to bring about positive results
• Understanding the objectives of the business unit, and ensuring the service is aligned with those objectives
• Maintains an understanding of the service offerings, particularly those consumed by the business units
• Maintains knowledge of the Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators for the services consumed by our business units

• Site Responsible - Onsite lead for all data center, infrastructure and network services topics, escalations:

• Estimates and calculates service costs depending on service-components, Forecast yearly budget for server, data center and network services
• Maintains a full understanding of the service offerings consumed by their site(s)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field
• 3-5 years IT Project management and implementation
• Valid US Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

• Established and productive professional individual contributor
• Works independently with general supervision
• Able to address problems that are difficult but typically not complex
• Able to influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices
• Experience in security applications (firewalls / proxy) and networking (LAN and WLAN)
• Ability to learn new IT expert fields
• Project management skills (Agile, Waterfall)
• Basic knowledge in Audio Visual solutions
• Communication and coordination skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships within and outside the company
