  • Primary for preparing domain architecture viewpoints and models depicting current, target, and interim states. Use current state viewpoints to identify and analyze difficulties and opportunities (PPOs). Perform advanced modeling and analysis to meet the strategic needs of the organization with respect to system, information, functional/non-functional needs, performance and security/regulatory requirements.
  • Create and use architecture patterns and ensure alignment with IT strategies and reference architectures. Ensure target state alignment and integration across architecture domains. Ensure upstream alignment / traceability to business needs via business architecture and downstream alignment / traceability with solution building blocks. Lead the extension / enhancement of domain architecture strategies, standards, and guidelines. Identify and support development of reusable domain patterns.
  • Develop and promote our subdivisional strategy to Artificial Intelligence in partnerships with product and business leads.
  • Collaborate with other teams (business and technical), key stakeholders, peers, and partners to understand needs to enhance architecture impact and address technical limitations. Evaluates/selects a solution / product design that aligns with IT / Domain strategies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Researches emerging domain trends to determine their relevancy and fit for the organization.
  • Participates in vendor evaluation and selection process broadly; facilitates vendor evaluation and selection for domain-specific tooling. Represent the architecture domain in the drafting of RFIs/RFPs and the evaluation / scoring of vendor proposals.
  • Leads domain assessment of new / proposed projects for architecture impacts in support of annual planning, resource estimation, and alignment with IT strategy and enterprise architecture. Provide input to project, product, and enterprise technology roadmaps. Provide regular reporting on progress, issues, and opportunities related to architecture domain.
  • Provide a standard common business vocabulary, express strategic requirements, outline high-level integrated designs to meet those requirements, and align with enterprise strategy and related business architecture
  • Flexibility and adaptability to drive special IT initiatives as needed
  • Knowledge of Vanguard Enterprise Data Stores a plus

Technology Experience –

  • Hands on experience with AWS Services that support Storage, Compute, and data technologies and architectural patterns optimized for performance, resiliency, scalability, security, and cost.
  • Working knowledge of DB2 and legacy database technologies.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and big data processing using frameworks like Hadoop or Spark.

In This Role You Will

  1. Designs database, data models, data warehouse applications and Business Intelligence reports through the use of standard processes and tools
  2. Evaluates reusability of current data for separate analyses, translates business needs into long-term architecture solutions for client, delivers high quality data architect related outcomes including data warehouse designs and data system enhancements in accordance with existing standards and guidelines.
  3. Analyzes business needs, working with project staff to make decisions and recommendations on the future of data architect development
  4. Conducts data sheering to rid the system of old, unused or duplicate data. Reviews object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.
  5. Resolves routine issues with business analysts and technology teams by providing advice on data warehousing methods and approaches.
  6. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it Takes

  • Minimum of ten years related work experience, with at least five years of technology architect experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
