Senior Engineering Technical Writer

Are you passionate about machine learning, deep learning, and statistics?

Do you have a strong aptitude for writing and explaining complex concepts and procedures to technical audiences? Are you interested in developing products that play a key role in the advancement of engineering and science?

At MathWorks, documentation is a key component of our products. Engineering technical writers are core members of a multidisciplinary team that includes software engineers, quality engineers, technical marketing specialists, and UX professionals, all with a common goal: to develop high-quality software that meets the needs of customers ranging from students to advanced engineers.

We are looking for a motivated individual with the background, skills, and enthusiasm to write documentation that explains statistical, machine learning, and deep learning concepts and methods to scientists, practicing engineers, and students, and describes how to use MathWorks statistics and machine learning tools to solve challenging problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative examples and tutorials showing how to solve machine learning and deep learning problems using Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox and/or Deep Learning Toolbox products
• Write user-focused content that explains key machine learning and deep learning concepts and methodologies Contribute to our software development process, review new features and suggest improvements, and help test tools before we release them to customers Learn about common technical challenges and customer workflows in online computing environments

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
• Additional Qualifications Degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or related technical field (Masters or PhD preferred) Strong knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical concepts Strong verbal communication and writing skills
• Strong knowledge of technical programming languages (R, MATLAB, Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to explain statistical and/or machine learning concepts and methodologies in writing
