In this role you are the primary technical point of contact for the universities in your territory. It is your responsibility to empower them to solve their technical and business challenges. You demonstrate the value of MATLAB and Simulink to grow tool adoption in teaching and research, and you leverage your insight into academia to paint a vision of how MathWorks fosters partnership and success in education and discovery.
Responsibilities
Create a vision for scientific discovery: You identify key research projects and groups that can benefit from the adoption of or already apply MathWorks’ products. You engage these groups to understand their goals and challenges. You leverage your product knowledge and industry insights to recommend MathWorks solutions.
Champion computational thinking: You inspire academic educators to incorporate computational literacy in their curriculum. You identify, track, and influence the adoption of MathWorks’ products in relevant fundamental and advanced engineering, science, and business courses. You motivate the value of teaching MATLAB/Simulink skills, drive problem set development and adoption, and support the integration of MathWorks products into key projects and laboratories.
Engage with university leadership: You engage and work with academic leaders to identify and address their needs. Through your customer engagements you establish business relationships with leading faculty. You grow them to become MathWorks advocates on-campus.
Advocate on behalf of your customers: You gather valuable feedback and insights from your university partners and share this information with the appropriate teams in, e.g., development or product marketing. Thus, you influence the future of MathWorks tools, offerings, and services to improve their value for our university partners worldwide.
Plan and strategize: Jointly with your account team you review key metrics and develop a strategy to engage with partnering universities to increase their tool usage and adoption in engineering and science. Using data-driven account assessments you regularly discuss and adapt your plan.
