Job Description

Factor_ a brand of HelloFresh is seeking a Manager, Data Science. In this role you will support the analytic, insights, reporting, data, and automation needs of our organization with exposure to executive leadership and all departments (particularly the Product Strategy, Culinary, Nutrition, Operations, and Growth teams). Core responsibilities include responsive data analytics to support strategic decision-making (through SQL queries / Python scripts, spreadsheets, visualizations, and automations), the development and automation of analytical tools, professional-grade Tableau dashboarding, and reporting on key business initiatives and metrics. You will solve challenging problems using Customer, Product, Operational, and Financial data to derive actionable insights and communicate them to business leaders in a clear and concise manner. You are comfortable supporting the needs of multiple stakeholders and balancing multiple projects simultaneously. This role will afford you broad exposure to a high-growth, industry-leading, ready-to-eat meal subscription business and the opportunity to directly influence the company’s strategy, decision-making, and performance.

  • Support business strategy with data and insights in order to drive action and quantifiable business outcomes
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the data infrastructure at HelloFresh in order to facilitate data extraction and support Factor’s analytic, insights, and reporting needs
  • Build analytic tools and visualizations to provide actionable insights into Factor’s physical and digital Product and Customers
  • Write, maintain, validate, and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts against various databases to extract necessary data for recurring reporting and ad hoc analyses
  • Create custom Tableau dashboards to support recurring reporting needs
  • Fulfill analytic and insights requests from multiple stakeholders in a timely and responsive manner, ensuring the validation and integrity of the underlying data and tailoring of deliverables and communication to the requesters' needs
  • Democratize data access and automate manual processes in order to increase the speed and quality of decision-making across the organization

Who we are looking for...

  • A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or other relevant areas of study (consideration also given for accredited Data Science, Data Analytics, or similar “Bootcamp” credentials in combination with relevant work experience)
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in an analytics and/or data science function
  • Advanced working SQL proficiency and experience, knowledge of relational database structures, and query authoring competencies, including use of CTEs and subqueries, and building tables and views
  • Experience using Python for data transformation, analysis, and automation
  • Data visualization proficiency is required (Tableau experience strongly preferred)
  • Understanding of database design and ETL practices
  • Experience using descriptive and inferential statistics a plus
  • Experience with Databricks and/or GitHub a plus
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Suite applications
