The Senior Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and supporting our state-of-the-art robotic inventory management system, focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision applications. This role requires a strong technical background in machine learning, deep learning, and AI, as well as the flexibility and adaptability to learn and work in a dynamic, team-centric environment. The Senior Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Software Engineering, and Product Management, to define project requirements, develop machine learning models, implement solutions, and ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of these models in production.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON: 

• Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning models and algorithms for NLP and Computer Vision applications in our robotic inventory management system, including state-of-the-art transformer models. 
• Conduct hyperparameter optimization to improve the performance of machine learning models. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, develop solutions, and ensure successful deployment and maintenance of machine learning models in production. 
• Conduct research on cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning, NLP, and Computer Vision to improve existing models and develop new solutions. 
• Design and implement scalable, modular, and maintainable machine learning systems that can adapt to customer demands and evolving technologies. 
• Evaluate model performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. 
• Document and present project progress, findings, and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture that fosters innovation and continuous learning. 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: 

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant professional experience. 
• Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and Computer Vision, with a proven track record of implementing and deploying models in production. 
• Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. 
• Familiarity with data processing tools, such as Pandas and NumPy. 
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to new challenges. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. 
• A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, NLP, and Computer Vision. 
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work through ambiguity.
• Embraces and contributes to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture. 

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (NOT REQUIRED): 

• Experience with Azure Machine Learning or other cloud-based machine learning platforms. 
• Experience with robotics and automation systems. 
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies and project management tools. 
• Background in data science and analytics.
