Fascinating Opportunity: Security Data Scientist at ING CISO

We are currently expanding our team and seeking a skilled professional with subject expertise in security topics such as vulnerability management or identity and access management. With a solid foundation in these areas, along with coding experience, you'll have the opportunity to enhance your skill set by utilizing advanced AI and machine learning techniques.

As a Security Data Scientist, you will work within the Center of Expertise Security Strategy and Data, focusing on areas such as Security Detection and Response (SDR), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Attack Surface Management (ASM). Your primary responsibility will be to identify, design, and implement data solutions that are driven by data analytics, ensuring the execution of our data-driven security strategy.

Reporting to the Expert Lead Security Data Analytics, you will assess the quality of existing solutions and provide technical and strategic expertise to drive improvements. Additionally, you'll collaborate on the creation of end-to-end analytical models and successfully deploy them into a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and implementation of sustainable and maintainable data solutions, including analytical models, in the areas of SDR, IAM, and ASM.
  • Explore, organize, and produce models to promote the adoption of data analytics within the CISO function and beyond.
  • Demonstrate subject expertise in security topics such as vulnerability management or identity and access management.
  • Identify functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions for ING.
  • Act as a point of contact for new data products, providing guidance and support.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members from a technical perspective.
  • Foster strong relationships with country and business unit leaders, as well as internal stakeholders, to ensure the effectiveness and usability of the data products created.
  • Serve as an overall AI expert, providing valuable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support and coach the data analytics teams in the areas of ASM, SDR, and IAM.

Requirements:

  • A Technical Master's degree in cybersecurity, computer sciences, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 4-10 years of experience in a medior/senior role, preferably with relevant security experience.
  • Experience in larger companies and corporate consulting is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in analytics, machine learning, and quantitative (data) modeling.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (including basic ML libraries), Pyspark, Spark Streaming, Git, Azure, and Google Cloud AI platforms, Databricks, and workflows.
  • Excellent understanding of security data analytics and a proven track record of delivering end-to-end security solutions using analytics.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships and influence decision-making.
  • Capability to simplify complexity and drive operational excellence.
  • Strong self-supporting skills and a dedication to developing other team members.
  • Excellent level of English proficiency.
  • Experience in a financial environment is a plus.
