About the role

Data, Insights and Systems is a team within the Group Compliance, Compliance & Operational Risk function, responsible for designing and delivering analytics and insights that drive better compliance and operational risk outcomes and maintaining and managing systems which are relied upon for compliance and operational risk processes.

As the Data Science Chapter Lead, you will be accountable for the advanced analytics capabilities within Group Compliance. You will oversee the team to ensure that priorities are delivered and contribute towards the creation of cross functional and agile team. You will be required to oversee the team, build advanced data models to solve complex problems and generate sophisticated insights

What will your day look like

• Developing advanced analytics models (i.e., machine learning), including the preparation and reconciliation of data and creation of interactive visualisations
• Identifying datasets that contain both structured and unstructured data and performing advanced analytics over the data set
• Building functional solutions that incorporate and perform Real time analytics and Predictive analytics
• Contributing in the development of models and algorithms to assist in applying advanced mathematical techniques that improve decision making and provide insights across Group Compliance
• Strong partnerships with Group Compliance teams and business leaders
• Embody the organisational commitments to the AGILE methodology through actions and approach

What will you bring?

• Strong programming experience with Python, R and/or SQL with the ability to articulate and demonstrate good coding practices
• Able to deliver consistent and accurate analysis, presenting current trends and emerging issues to key stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management, and communication skills, verbal and written across all mediums
• Experience working across multiple streams in a fast paced, dynamic and agile environment
• Ability to prioritise and maintain a manageable workload for teams and ensuring the delivery of highest value features first
• Proven ability to lead others in defining requirements and identifying solutions
• Demonstrated delivery of initiatives in a timely manner and ability to navigate through ambiguous situations and opportunities
• Sound appreciation of all aspects of compliance and operational risk
• Builds trusted advisory relationships across the organisation with a strong ability to influence and succeed through collaboration
