Job Description
The AI Center of Excellence in R&D is looking for a summer intern to join our imaging data science team. In this role, you will work on a project related to veterinary medical images, collaborate with our team of expert data scientists, and gain exposure to some of the innovative AI products that IDEXX is developing. If you are a student with a passion for machine learning and artificial intelligence and are excited by our mission to help companion animals, this role is for you!
What you can expect to do:
- You will work on an imaging related machine leanring project under the supervision of a senior data scientist on our team.
- You will write software in python and will need to be familiar with standard python numerical packages like numpy. Familiarity with machine leanring packages like PyTorch will be helpful.
- You will interact with a broader team of data scientists, software engineers and data engineers in the course of your project.
- You will present your work in a poster session at the end of the summer and share your work in team forums to interested stakeholders.
What you need to succeed:
- Competency with Python programming.
- Familiarity with Python numerical packages like numpy. Experience with PyTorch and vision packages like opencv and Scikit-Image are a plus.
- Be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
- Some familiarity or coursework with building machine learning applications is a plus.
- Some familiarity or coursework doing image processing is a plus.
